Doja Cat‘s third album, ‘Planet Her,’ easily ranks among last year’s best commercial performers thanks to the ongoing success of its housed hits ‘Kiss Me More,’ ‘Woman,’ ‘You Right,’ and more.
But, as Doja has expressed in the past, those public victories have come at the expense of some private losses – namely related to her mental health.
Last October, the chart-topping rapstress made headlines after taking to social media to reveal she was ‘exhausted’ and ‘unhappy’ due to her grueling schedule of promoting the project.
Thursday night (March 24), just weeks before Doja could be set to collect her first GRAMMYs at the ceremony’s April 3 showing, her tune changed from desiring a break to announcing she’s throwing in the towel all together.
The tweets above came amid a firestorm of controversy the Rap diva is embroiled in due to her recent time in South America.
As we posted here, Cat was among the big names blazing the stage of this year’s Lollapalooza Argentina – one of many stops she made while on tour in the continent. But while she recognized her time in Brazil and Argentina, her fans from Paraguay called her out for what they deemed ‘rude’ and ‘diva-like’ behavior during her time in the ‘heart of South America.’
What’s more, she didn’t even acknowledge her stay in the country – with some suggested she even lied about its duration.
When one fan branded the ‘Say So’ hitmaker “public enemy number one,” she replied: “I’m not sorry.”
The backlash that ensued sent Doja’s name to trending status on Twitter Thursday.
